KILN Global Network
Shekinah Law is part of a global network of Christian Legal Professionals called the Kingdom International Legal Network (“KILN”). The purpose of KILN is to “inspire Christians in the legal community to see and conduct their work as a calling to Kingdom Ministry”.
The first KILN Meeting was held in Suva, Fiji in January 2016 between Laurel Vaurasi and Romulo Nayacalevu representing Shekinah Law and Andrew Lind, Alistair McPherson and Heilala Tabete of Corney & Lind Lawyers, Brisbane, Australia. After a half day meeting and consultations, there was a gathering of the Christian Lawyers for a time of fellowship and encouragement. Through the KILN Network, the Lawyers Exchange and Development Program (L.E.A.D) was established.
The L.E.A.D Program was a Secondment opportunity, providing career and professional development opportunities for staff, thus also allowing for the acquiring of new skills and experience in practice. The first exchange under L.E.A.D was between Ms. Seruwaia Nayacalevu of Shekinah Law and Mr. James Tan of Corney & Lind Lawyers. You can read their reflections on this site: http://kiln.online/lead/lead-updates/lead-written-reflections/. Since this first exchange, Shekinah Law has also had exchanges with other law firms in Fiji and Solomon Islands.
Since 2016, KILN has held two Conferences in Fiji in 2018 and 2020. The staffs of Shekinah Law, being the host Firm worked tirelessly with the KILN Steering Committee to ensure the success of both Conferences. The third KILN Conference is scheduled for 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya. You can read more on the KILN Conferences on the KILN Website on http://kiln.online/kiln-2020/ Shekinah Law plans to send its delegates to the 3rd KILN Conference in 2022.
